Today we honor the life and legacy of Officer Ross Bartlett, a Ceresco police officer, NDCS investigator and a member of the Ceresco Volunteer Fire Department. There was an incredible outpouring of support at the service and procession.

NDCS community partners provide a variety of services across the state of Nebraska. Maxwell Leadership Training

At NDCS, developing our people is a key part of our Strategic Plan. Whether it’s our in-house First-Level Leader and Leadership Academy programs, on-line training resources, or involvement in national organizations, it’s all about growing and becoming better leaders.

This week, NDCS leaders spent time together at a training facilitated by the Maxwell Institute. They studied The 5 Levels of Leadership, which is a blueprint for developing a leadership culture, and also learned how to instill a culture of 360° leadership within the organization.

Congratulations to an outstanding member of our team: Recruitment Specialist Jess Wentling!

Jess is often behind the camera taking headshots of our new team members on their first day of training, and we’re excited to get to recognize her as the Central Office Team Member of the Quarter! Hats off Graduates

Hats off to these graduates for a job well done! The Nebraska Correctional Youth Facility (NCYF) commencement ceremony recognized five individuals with NCYF Community High School diplomas and one with a State of Nebraska diploma.

Since 2008, there have been 524 high school graduates from NCYF Community High School receiving their diploma in compliance with the requirements for our Rule 10 Special Purpose High School and many additional graduates completing their GED.

Today we celebrate our newest teammates at the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services. Welcome to the team, Class 324!

Congratulations to these men and women who have dedicated the last six weeks learning the knowledge and practical skills to begin a successful NDCS career. Though today ends their journey at the Staff Training Academy, a new journey evolves as they move on to their respective facilities and career paths throughout the agency.
