It’s Volunteer Appreciation Month for the entire month of April, and today we want to give a shout out to the awesome community partners of NDCS. Huge “Thank You” to all of our community partners for their time and dedication to bringing such amazing opportunities to the incarcerated population.

NDCS community partners provide a variety of services across the state of Nebraska. Some of our community partners work with groups of incarcerated individuals by guiding them through various non-clinical programs. At NDCS, developing our people is a key part of our Strategic Plan. Whether it’s our in-house First-Level Leader and Leadership Academy programs, on-line training resources, or involvement in national organizations, it’s all about growing and becoming better leaders.

Congratulations to an outstanding member of our team: Recruitment Specialist Jess Wentling!

Jess is often behind the camera taking headshots of our new team members on their first day of training, and we’re excited to get to recognize her as the Central Office Team Member of the Quarter! Hats off to these graduates for a job well done! The Nebraska Correctional Youth Facility (NCYF) commencement ceremony recognized five individuals with NCYF Community High School diplomas and one with a State of Nebraska diploma.

Since 2008, there have been 524 high school graduates from NCYF Community High School receiving their diploma in compliance with the requirements for our Rule 10 Special Purpose High School and many additional graduates completing their GED.
